North Carolina Defeats Michigan State

Too many turnovers, too many missed shots for Michigan State as the Tar Heels win convincingly in Detroit. The Spartans were never really in this one. I tuned in a bit late to the game and they were already down 21-7, but it really was lights out from then on. The experience of UNC really was shining through tonight as they win 89-72 in the final game of the 2009 tournament.

Congratulations goes to Todd Swank for winning the 2009 OfficePool64.com Tournament Contest with 168 points.

Standings After The First Weekend

I've had a couple of requests for it today, I've compiled the numbers for the last five hours, the ever frustrating 'Player Scenarios' page is now active. Frustrating because it shows your best finish and your worst finish. For almost everyone, you can finish in 1st place or last place. So at this point, I'm not sure how good of a report this is. From the years I've used the software, the key number to look at is 'other combinations'. The larger that number is, the better your odds of actually landing a first place pick sheet are.

Check the 32,768 Player Scenarios

This report can also be found on the Office Pool Menu on the right column of this page and at the top right corner of all other report pages.

Round 1 Games Begin

At Wednesday's 'Last Call' email we were at 43 entries, we've ended up at 65 entries total, just topping the highest year total by two pick sheets. I don't have the final dollar numbers yet as there are a few people's name that are new to me and I'm not sure if they were recruited by someone. Pencil in nine free pick sheets currently, though I may add one or two to that number. Figure around $500-ish in dollar amount.

After 16 games have played in the 1st round, the most correctly picked games was 14 by three people: Chad Redmann, Eliot Komar, Sean Quinlan 2. 19 pick sheets correctly guessed 13 games, while 21 pick sheets had success with 12 games.
